Meetings Starting Afresh!

Flowers in the Cracks is now meeting again. We met on August 2, for a walk around the Palo Alto Duck Pond, then again on August 7th.

The participants now include myself (Peter Corless), Tatiana (Tanya) Scutelnic, Franklin Pham, and Tri P. Le. (Yes, it spells "Triple.")

I have also been in touch recently with Vien Phuong Nguyen, a friend of Franklin's, who is interested in participating in the future.

Flowers in the Cracks is growing from a movement towards an organization.

Flowers in the Cracks as an artistic movement remains the same. We encourage everyone to explore and be conscious of the “flowers in the cracks” they encounter in the world around them in their own way.

Meanwhile, we are also working towards preparing the paperwork to make Flowers in the Cracks Artists Alliance as a formal organization; specifically a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. That would allow us to do business for charitable and educational purposes. For instance, if we wanted to have an adult or students arts program, or an arts therapy program, or a concert/art show, or other programs for public benefit. Those are ambitious thoughts. For now, we're still just taking pictures!

I wanted to send my best wishes out to Ree Slocum, of Arcadian Images. She is quite busy this time of the year. She is going to be in the local area twice, at the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts (August 23-24) and also at the Mountain View Art and Wine Fair (September 6-7). Her site also says she is having a one-woman show at Bella Flora Gallery, Heritage House in Mendocino if you get out that way.
