The beginning
Today is no different than any other day.
But are you sure of that?
What if today is the beginning of something constructive, something that can make not only a difference for you, but for everybody that surrounds you?
What if today is the second chance you have been waiting for your entire existence?
Would you believe me if I am telling you that everyday is a second chance?
How about meeting someone that sees every day as a second chance?
My name is Franklin, and I am this kind of guy.
I am now part of Flowers in the Cracks, an artistic movement that records the beauty of the so called “ordinary life”, because I am telling you, there is no such thing as an ugly flower.
It's because there are only people.
It's because you get only one life.In some way or another, Flowers in the Cracks will make sure that you too will embrace this state of mind. It can be a photograph, a painting, a poem… You might never see it, but I can assure you that we will try hard to speak out how life can be generous and delicate in its own way.
As you can understand, today is no ordinary day.
Today is the beginning.
Franklin.

Meetings Starting Afresh!
Flowers in the Cracks is now meeting again. We met on August 2, for a walk around the Palo Alto Duck Pond, then again on August 7th.
The participants now include myself (Peter Corless), Tatiana (Tanya) Scutelnic, Franklin Pham, and Tri P. Le. (Yes, it spells "Triple.")
I have also been in touch recently with Vien Phuong Nguyen, a friend of Franklin's, who is interested in participating in the future.
Flowers in the Cracks is growing from a movement towards an organization.
Flowers in the Cracks as an artistic movement remains the same. We encourage everyone to explore and be conscious of the “flowers in the cracks” they encounter in the world around them in their own way.

Meanwhile, we are also working towards preparing the paperwork to make Flowers in the Cracks Artists Alliance as a formal organization; specifically a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. That would allow us to do business for charitable and educational purposes. For instance, if we wanted to have an adult or students arts program, or an arts therapy program, or a concert/art show, or other programs for public benefit. Those are ambitious thoughts. For now, we're still just taking pictures!
I wanted to send my best wishes out to Ree Slocum, of Arcadian Images. She is quite busy this time of the year. She is going to be in the local area twice, at the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts (August 23-24) and also at the Mountain View Art and Wine Fair (September 6-7). Her site also says she is having a one-woman show at Bella Flora Gallery, Heritage House in Mendocino if you get out that way.
